Trong khi Fast & Furious 6 - phần tiếp theo của series phim hành động ăn khách đang rục rịch chuẩn bị đổ bộ lên các rạp chiếu phim trên toàn thế giới trong tháng 5 tới thì trong lúc này, một tựa game ăn theo bộ phim cũng đang được gấp rút hoàn thiện dưới sự giám sát của Activision với tên gọi Fast & Furious: Showdown.
Theo tiết lộ từ phía Activision, Fast & Furious: Showdown là một tựa game đua xe kết hợp các yếu tố hành động khác như bắn súng, cướp xe... cùng cốt truyện liên kết giữa bộ phim Fast 5 với phần tiếp theo chuẩn bị công chiếu, bên cạnh đó người chơi sẽ luôn luôn tham gia các nhiệm vụ cùng một người chơi khác hoặc do AI điều khiển. Sau đây là danh sách một số loại nhiệm vụ rất "Fast & Furious" xuất hiện trong trò chơi:
- Get to Location - Di chuyển đến vị trí định sẵn nhanh nhất có thể.
- Transport - Vận chuyển người/xe/đồ vật đến nơi yêu cầu.
- Win Race - Về nhất trong một cuộc đua đường phố.
- Catch Vehicle - Bắt kịp một mục tiêu đang bỏ trốn.
- Survive Pursuit - Trốn thoát khỏi cuộc truy lùng của cảnh sát và các băng nhóm.
- Protect Vehicle - Bảo vệ một chiếc xe khỏi bị phá hủy.
- Enter Vehicle - Điều khiển nhân vật quay trở lại xe trong khi đang di chuyển.
- Wreck Objectives/vehicles - Phá hủy mục tiêu nào đó.
- Avoid Detection - Vượt qua camera an ninh với tốc độ cao.
- Rescue Teammate - Giải cứu đồng đội đang gặp nguy
- Hijack Vehicle - Cướp một chiếc xe được chỉ định.
- Steal Cargo - Lấy cắp hàng từ xe trong khi nó đang di chuyển.

Fast & Furious: Showdown dự tính được phát hành trước khi bộ phim công chiếu trên Xbox360, PS3, WiiU vào ngày 22/5. Hiện tại vẫn chưa rõ đây sẽ là một tựa game full price hay downloadable. Sau thất bại ê chề với tựa game ăn theo phim The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct mới đây, có lẽ những người yêu thích Fast & Furious cũng không nên hy vọng quá nhiều vào Fast & Furious: Showdown.
