Khi nhắc đến game của hãng Microsoft Game chắc hẳn không ít game thủ, nhất là các fan của thể loại mô phỏng đều nhắc đến Flight Simulator. Đúng vậy, đến phiên bản mới nhất của hãng là Flight Simulator X (FSX), thì dòng game này đã tồn tại gần 25 năm kể từ phiên bản đầu tiên, dòng game này cũng chính là niềm tự hào và đại điện cho Microsoft Game. FSX được giới chuyên môn và mộ điệu đánh giá khá cao kể từ khi xuất hiện.
FSX đánh dấu 25 năm kể từ ngày bản game đầu tiên được phát hành, có thể nói đây là sự thành công, là dấu mốc đáng nhớ đối nhà sản xuất Microsoft, cũng như đối với các game thủ yêu thích thể loại lái máy bay mô phỏng này. FSX có cách chơi nhẹ nhàng, không đòi hỏi người chơi phải tập trung quá mức như các game hành động, chiến thuật hay nhập vai...
Ngoài ra FSX còn đem đến cho người chơi một cảm giác thoải mái, dễ chịu khi nhìn ngắm cảnh đẹp từ trên không trung, có thể nói hình ảnh đẹp như thật luôn là thế mạnh của dòng game FS, nhưng để có thể chiêm ngưỡng được những cảnh đẹp ấy, người chơi cũng phải tốn khá nhiều thời gian để làm quen với cách điều khiển máy bay - một hệ thống luôn làm bối rối bất cứ “phi công trẻ” nào.
Tuy nhiên bạn cũng đừng vì thế mà vội nản chí, một khi bạn đã nắm bắt được bí quyết thì việc tự mình điều khiển một chuyến bay an toàn luôn tạo cảm giác thích thú và tuyệt vời! FS X đã có nhiều nâng cấp đáng kể so với bản trước khi đưa vào khoảng 12 máy bay mới với các tính năng hấp dẫn tha hồ cho người chơi chọn lựa như: DeHavilland DHC-2, AirCreation 582SL Ultralight, Maule M7-260C Orion, Grumman G-21A Goose... FSX được “cha đẻ” thay đổi nhiều điểm quan trọng, đặc biệt là hình ảnh trong game, những hiệu ứng về sự thay đổi thời tiết, ngày và đêm, các mùa đều được thể hiện một cách chân thật nhất. Người chơi có thể nhìn thấy những dòng xe đang di chuyển bên dưới, các tòa nhà, nông trại, các loài động vật hoang dã... Tất cả đều được “tô vẽ” khá chi tiết và bóng bẩy. Nét mới nữa của FSX là cách chơi theo cốt truyện giúp cho người chơi có những mục tiêu rõ ràng, tạo thêm nhiều cảm hứng mới lạ so với các game khác cùng thể loại.
Người chơi có thể chọn lựa cho mình những nhiệm vụ khác nhau, như vận chuyển hàng cứu trợ đến những nước gặp khó khăn do thiên tai, nạn đói... gây ra. Điểm kỹ năng của người chơi sẽ tăng dần theo mỗi nhiệm vụ thành công. FSX có khoảng 24.000 phi trường để người chơi chọn làm điểm dừng chân, tất cả các khâu từ tiếp nhiên liệu, băng chuyền hàng hóa... đều được AI của game kiểm soát và hoạt động rất tốt. Ngoài ra, bạn có thể tham gia chơi trực tuyến với nhiều người khác trên thế giới thông qua mục Multiplayer, chắc chắn đây sẽ là “môi trường” tốt cho bạn trổ tài cùng các “đồng nghiệp” trên khắp thế giới. Như chúng ta đã biết, FSX thuộc thể loại ngốn khá nhiều tài nguyên của PC, để cài được game, người chơi cần đến 13GB trống trên ổ cứng. Và để chơi game ở mức đẹp nhất về hình ảnh, người chơi cần đến card đồ hoạ 512MB. Tuy nhiên bạn vẫn có thể chơi game thoải mái khi chỉ sở hữu một card đồ họa tầm trung, nhưng thiệt thòi về hình ảnh hiển thị là không thể tránh khỏi! Để chơi game được thuận tiện người chơi nên sử dụng gamepad (tay cầm điều khiển) hay Joystick (mô phỏng cần lái máy bay) sẽ dễ điểu khiển hơn bàn phím mặc định.
Còn gì thích thú hơn khi bạn được tự mình lái và chu du khắp thiên hạ với những chiếc phi cơ thuộc loại hiện đại nhất hiện nay? Tuy chỉ là trong thế giới ảo nhưng FSX cũng phần nào thỏa mãn ước muốn làm phi công của không ít bạn trẻ hiện nay.
