Torchlight là một game nhập vai do Runic Games phát triển và vừa được ra mắt trên PC vào ngày 27 tháng 10 vừa qua. Game bị coi là bản sao của Diablo vì ngay chính 2 nhân vật cộm cán trong nhóm sản xuất cũng chính là những người từng làm nên hai bản Diablo trước đây. Trong các ảnh so sánh trong bài, ảnh của Torchlight nằm phía trên, Diablo III nằm phía dưới.
Tuy nhiên, sau khi ra mắt, Torchlight đã được chào đón khá nồng nhiệt. Ngay cả các fan ruột của Diablo cũng sẵn sàng chơi Torchlight và đưa ra không ít lời khen ngợi.
Tuy không hoành tráng như tựa game của Blizzard nhưng Torchlight vẫn có những nét độc đáo riêng như cốt truyện phi tuyến tính, khả năng mod game rất đa dạng.
Nếu như Diablo III bị các fan chỉ trích vì quá màu mè và đánh mất chất tăm tối, u ám vốn là đặc trưng của dòng game nhập vai chặt chém này thì Torchlight lại được chấp nhận dễ dàng hơn. Sự rực rỡ và có chút vui nhộn là nét hấp dẫn của sản phẩm tới từ Runic Games.
Điểm số mà Torchlight nhận được trên các website đánh giá là khá cao. Trang web nổi tiếng Metacritic cho game 86/100 điểm, RPGamer chấm 4,5/5 với những lời ngợi khen về âm nhạc và phong cách nghệ thuật của game trong khi GameSpot cũng chấm cho Torchlight điểm 8.
Nhiều người thậm chí còn cho rằng Torchlight chính là những gì mà các fan Diablo ao ước nên có trong tựa game của mình. Game hoàn toàn thoát khỏi cái bóng của Diablo và là một game độc lập tuyệt vời
